TOKYO — A Japanese court docket has accepted the detention of former Nissan Chairman Carlos Ghosn by means of April 14 after his fourth arrest over monetary misconduct allegations.
Ghosn was taken into custody Thursday and is being held on the Tokyo Detention Middle.
Prosecutors’ request for the detention was accepted by the Tokyo District Courtroom on Friday. Prosecutors can ask for one more 10-day extension.
Ghosn was arrested Nov. 19 and launched March 6 on bail.
His lawyer Junichiro Hironaka mentioned arresting his consumer once more was unfair when Ghosn had cleared the bail situations.
The newest arrest is on suspicion that $5 million of funds despatched by a Nissan subsidiary, meant for an Oman dealership, was diverted to an organization successfully managed by Ghosn.
Ghosn, 65, says he’s harmless of all allegations.
